This is an anthology of short stories written in an ongoing writing workshop at San Quentin State Prison.
Some stories are fiction, some memoir/creative non-fiction, and some a combination. If you’re looking for
stories about rattlesnakes, Black Power, Santa’s demise, post-apocalyptic communities, prison boxing
matches, one-day courtships, painful childhoods, transformation in the ‘hood, or the Lost Boys of Sudan,
among other things, you’ve got the right book. The range of subject matter here is as wide as the imagination.
This project is a culmination of over a year’s worth of labor by these men, many of them Lifers, all serious
writers. All proceeds from the sale of this book go through the William James Association to support this
creative writing class through the Arts-in-Corrections program.

OLJ MINISTRIES

http://www.ourlifesjourney.org/

 PURPOSE / MISSION

We publish a free Christian newsletter that is mailed out to current offenders, and a web version is also available for the families and general public.

Bro. Ron also authored a recovery program entitled “Our life’s Journey” which was taught at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility for two years and was well received and very successful to those inmates in their quest to take back their lives.

We also offer free web pages for the currently incarcerated offenders to show the world that they are “Somebody”, and not just a number. (This is not a pen pal service) Please visit our web site for more details on how you can get involved or to help the friend or loved ones in prison.

*We would like to thank Cellpals for their help and support as we know they share the same mission that we do
